Enhanced Access

In need of an evening or weekend appointment with a GP or a nurse? 

TyneHealth provides patients registered with a North Tyneside practice with the opportunity to book appointments in local Enhanced Access Hubs (central locations.)

This service now also includes access to dedicated cervical screening (smear test) appointments with experienced clinicians. Find out more on our Women’s Health Services section.

The appointments are provided by local doctors and nurses who work in North Tyneside GP practices and have full access to your medical records. 

Appointments can be booked by contacting your own GP practice or when your practice is closed, via the TyneHealth Enhanced Access Appointment number 0191 486 2195.

You can make an appointment to see one of the following clinicians:

• GP
• Advanced Nurse Practitioners (prescribers who see and treat minor injuries/illnesses)
• Practice Nurse
• Health Care Assistant

Enhanced Access is available across North Tyneside.

Patients will be given an appointment at the most convenient or appropriate location for them.
