Learning and Development Network

The Learning and Development Network is a service that has been set up by TyneHealth to be the first point of contact for all training across Primary Care in North Tyneside. We support the development of the existing and future workforce by rolling out nationally and locally commissioned projects and training in line with educational and workforce priorities.

The People We Work With

As the Learning and Development team we would not be able to provide all the training options available without the support of our various partners. We work with a number of partners and providers to direct and deliver the training.

First and foremost we work closely with our 19 practices and 4 PCNs across North Tyneside to understand the local staff and their needs. This ensures any training provided is used effectively and designed to support practices.

One of our core partners is the NENC Primary Care Training Hub and specifically the North of Tyne and Gateshead team who work with us to direct national funding into locally commissioned training based on the needs of our North Tyneside staff. Their website can be found here.

The Learning and Development Network was initially funded by the Integrated Care Board (ICB) who we also liaise with to ensure that we are not duplicating work and that the best person and role is handling the task at hand. Over the last few months we have worked together to design and deliver the Protected Learning Times across North Tyneside as well as other training that has been ICB funded.

We are also keen to work with other local organisations and have conversations about what we can do to support each other. We have already worked with people from our local universities and organisations such as VODA, Tyne Metropolitan College and North Tyneside Council Safeguarding team.
